How Tricentis ARA works

A TestCase is a path taken in your application. It consists of a sequence of steps that you want to test. These steps are called TestSteps. Each TestStep is an automated testing task that you would otherwise do manually.

With Tricentis ARA, you can create your TestCases quickly and easily. Just use your application as you normally do. For instance, navigate between pages, enter information, or click on buttons. Tricentis ARA records your actions and translates them into TestCases and corresponding Modules.

Once you have recorded your TestCases, you can then import your recording files into Tricentis Tosca where you use them to automate your tests.

Supported applications

You can record interactions with the following applications:

  • Web applications

  • SAP WinGUI

Limitations

Tricentis ARA comes with the following limitations:

  • You cannot install Tricentis ARA on a machine where you already have other Tricentis products installed.

  • You have 7 days after you install Tricentis ARA to record and save TestCases without a license. After this period, you can still record TestCases, but you need to set up a valid license to play back or save your recording.
