Editing S3 Buckets

If you have Administrator or LiveCompare Editor privileges, you can edit the details for an S3 Bucket by carrying out the following steps:

  1. Select an S3 Bucket from the Administration/S3 Buckets folder in the LiveCompare hierarchy, Alternatively, select the S3 Buckets folder and choose a name from the list of registered S3 Buckets.
  2. Click ‘Edit Details’ in the Details pane. The Edit S3 Bucket screen is displayed.
  3. Update the S3 Bucket definition as follows.
Field Description

Symbolic Name:

Enter a symbolic name for the S3 Bucket. This will be used to refer to the S3 Bucket in LiveCompare.

Description:

Enter a description for the S3 Bucket.

Bucket:

Enter the name of an S3 Bucket created in the AWS Management Console.

Application Server:

Paste in your Amazon Web Services Access key ID, obtained from the IAM Management Console.

Confirm Access Token:

Paste in the same access token for confirmation.

Secret Key:

Paste in your Amazon Web Services Secret access Key, obtained from the IAM Management Console.

Confirm Secret Key:

Paste in the same secret key for confirmation.

Region:

Select the region used when the S3 Bucket was created.

Compress:

Indicates whether data will be stored in the S3 Bucket using GZIP compression.

Encrypt: Indicates whether data will be stored in the S3 Bucket using AWS AES-256 encryption.

Click ‘Save’ to save your changes.

An S3 Bucket may be renamed by selecting it in the Administration/S3 Buckets folder and choosing ‘Rename’ from the context menu. Alternatively, select an S3 Bucket in the hierarchy and press F2 to perform in-line editing.

If an S3 Bucket is renamed, any String parameters that refer to the old name will need to be updated to refer to the new S3 Bucket name.
