Introduction to Table Blacklists

Some SAP tables may contain sensitive information which you may not wish to show in LiveCompare results. LiveCompare provides support for this through the use of table blacklists associated with each RFC Destination. If an SAP table is included in an RFC Destination’s blacklist, the table’s contents may not be retrieved from the RFC Destination, for example:

  • The Quick Compare Wizard returns 0 rows for a Table Contents comparison if the table is blacklisted in each of the specified RFC Destinations, or a comparison status of ‘In1’ or ‘In2’ if the table is blacklisted in only one of the RFC Destinations.
  • The Read SAP Table and Read SAP Table and Join actions report that a table is not found if it has been blacklisted in the specified RFC Destination.
  • The Retrieve Table Set action retrieves 0 rows for blacklisted tables specified in its Table List property.
  • The Compare Objects action reports that a Table Contents (TABC) object is not compared if the table is blacklisted in either of the specified RFC Destinations.

Table blacklists are defined in Excel spreadsheets, which are uploaded to RFC Destinations using the ‘Upload’ button in each RFC Destination’s General tab. The table blacklist associated with an RFC Destination may be downloaded to an Excel spreadsheet using the ‘Download’ button in the RFC Destination’s General tab.

The Get Administration Objects action may be used to report on the blacklisted tables for each of the defined RFC Destinations (independently of which projects they are in). This is done by setting the action’s Object Type property to ‘Blacklist’.
