Table Contents Configuration Settings

A number of configuration settings affect the way in which LiveCompare performs table content comparisons. If you have LiveCompare Administrator privileges, these settings may be modified in the Configuration - Table Contents screen. However, the defaults set by LiveCompare are the values recommended by Tricentis for performing efficient table content comparisons.

These values affect the following types of comparison:

The default values for each of these configuration settings are shown in parentheses.

SapTableReaderMaxMemory (10,000)

This setting specifies the maximum amount of memory in KB to be used by the Table Reader.

SapTableReaderMaxRows (200,000,000)

This setting specifies a maximum for the total number of table rows to be retrieved from each SAP system when performing a Tier2 table contents comparison. These rows are retrieved and compared, but they are not necessarily saved for display (see the R3CompTConTier2MaxRowsForDisplay setting).

SapTableReaderBatchRows (0)

This setting specifies the maximum number of table rows retrieved from each SAP system in a single batch when performing a Tier2 table contents comparison. Table rows are retrieved, compared and displayed in batches of SAPTableReaderBatchRows. The default value is 0, which means that the batch size is computed as described in the Reading SAP Tables help topic.

R3CompTConTier1MaxRows (5,000)

This setting specifies the maximum number of rows to be retrieved from each table when comparing table contents to obtain Tier1 results. For Tier1 table contents comparisons, only the first R3CompTConTier1MaxRows rows are compared in each of the tables. If no differences are found, the tables are considered to be the same.

R3CompTConTier2MaxRowsForDisplay (1,000)

This setting specifies the maximum number of table rows to show in LiveCompare’s table displays and reports:

  • For the Create Hierarchy Report action, the setting applies to each table contents object in the report.
  • For the Create HTML Report action, the setting applies to each Table dataset in the report. However if the Maximum number of rows/objects to display user preference has a lower value, the user preference applies instead.
  • For table contents displayed in Hierarchy datasets or the Quick Compare Wizard, this setting applies if the Maximum number of rows/objects to display user preference is not specified.
  • For Table datasets, this setting applies if the Maximum number of rows/objects to display user preference is not specified.

MaxTablesPerView (5)

This setting specifies the maximum number of tables allowed in views stored by the Record Snapshot action.
