Compare Custom Objects App

The Compare Custom Objects App finds and compares all non-BW and non-HR objects on the two SAP systems and reports on the differences between the objects.

Running the App

To run the Compare Custom Objects App, select the App from the Apps screen and create an App variant. Set the ‘System1’ field to the RFC Destination for the first system to be compared, and the ‘System2’ field to the RFC Destination for the second system to be compared.

Click ‘Run’. When the variant has completed, its results may be accessed from the App Cockpit screen.

App Results

The Compare Custom Objects App generates a Dashboard report which displays a summary of the number of objects compared and their comparison statuses. Objects with status CantCompare or NotCompared are excluded from the summary.

Dashboard

This spreadsheet displays a summary of the number of objects compared and their comparison statuses. Objects with comparison statuses of CantCompare or NotCompared are excluded from the summary. It also includes a bar chart which summarizes the comparison statuses for each of the custom object types.

This spreadsheet provides help for each of the spreadsheet reports.

Summary

This spreadsheet provides a summary of each object type compared, displaying the number of objects that are the same, different, in the first compared system only, or in the second compared system only. Click a link in the Type column to display the ‘Details’ spreadsheet, which shows detailed comparison results for the selected object type.

Details

This spreadsheet displays the name, type, latest transport details and comparison status for each of the compared objects. In this spreadsheet:

  • The TPRT_COUNT column stores a count of the transports related to each compared object (obtained from table E071).
  • The TPRT_LATEST column stores the name of the latest transport containing the object (obtained from table E070).
  • The TPRT_OWNER column stores the transport’s owner (obtained from table E070).
  • The TPRT_DATE column stores the transport’s last modification date (obtained from table E070).

If an object type is selected in the ‘Summary’ spreadsheet, only objects of the selected type are displayed in the ‘Details’ spreadsheet. Click a link in the NAME column to display Tier 2 comparison results for the selected object.

Analysis Input Data

This Excel report contains a copy of the input parameters used to produce the App’s Dashboard report. The value of each input parameter is stored in a separate worksheet, which is named after the parameter whose value it contains.
