Deleting External Data Sources

If you have LiveCompare Editor or Administrator privileges, an External Data Source or External Data Folder can be deleted as follows:

  1. Select an External Data Source or External Data Folder from the Data/External Data Sources folder in the LiveCompare hierarchy.
  2. Choose ‘Delete’ from the context menu. A confirmation dialog is displayed.

If an Access, CSV, Excel or SQLite External Data Source is deleted, the associated database, spreadsheet or text file is removed from the <LiveCompare user data dir>\public\ExternalDataFiles directory. If an SQL Server or DB2 External Data Source is deleted, the associated SQL Server or DB2 database is unaffected.

If an External Data Folder is deleted, all the External Data Sources and Folders underneath it are also deleted.

Note that when an External Data Source is deleted, it is removed from all projects of which it is a member.
