Editing RFC Destinations

If you have LiveCompare Administrator privileges, an RFC Destination may be edited by selecting it from the Administration/RFC Destinations folder in the LiveCompare hierarchy. LiveCompare Editors may also edit RFC Destinations if this has been permitted by your installation.

The RFC Destination screen is displayed.

General Tab

The General tab displays the connection details for the selected RFC Destination. Click ‘Edit’ and modify the connection details as required. Complete the ‘User ID’ and ‘Password’ fields, and click ‘Save’ to save your changes.

Important: If an RFC Destination is used in a current workspace, do not change the Application Server or System Number fields to point to a different SAP system. This may cause misleading comparison results.

FTP Tab

The FTP tab displays the FTP connection details that are used by the Read Large SAP Table action. Click ‘Edit’ and modify the connection details as required, then click ‘Save’ to save your changes.

OLC Tab

The OLC tab displays the status of the object links cache that has been generated for an RFC Destination by the Create Object Links Cache action. Click ‘Request Reset’ to specify that the object links cache should be regenerated from scratch when the action is next run, or ‘Cancel Reset’ to cancel the reset request for the RFC Destination’s object links cache.

PHD Tab

The PHD tab displays details of the performance history data that has been collected for the RFC Destination. It allows you to specify the method used to obtain performance history data, and to set a schedule to define when the data will be retrieved (for the LiveCompare RFC collection method only).

If the ‘OnlyAdminEditsRFCDest’ option has been set in the Configuration - Security screen or during the installation of LiveCompare, the performance history data available for an RFC Destination may not be updated or deleted, and the schedule may not be modified.

UPL Tab

The UPL tab displays details of the UPL data that has been collected for the RFC Destination. It allows you to specify how many months of UPL data will be retrieved, update or delete the UPL data, and set a schedule to define when the UPL data will be retrieved. If the ‘OnlyAdminEditsRFCDest’ option has been set in the Configuration - Security screen or during the installation of LiveCompare, the UPL data available for an RFC Destination may not be updated or deleted, and the schedule may not be modified.

SDD Tab

The SDD tab displays details of the short dump data that has been collected for the RFC Destination. It allows you to specify how many months of short dump data will be retrieved, update or delete the short dump data, and set a schedule to define when the short dump data will be retrieved. If the ‘OnlyAdminEditsRFCDest’ option has been set in the Configuration - Security screen or during the installation of LiveCompare, the short dump data available for an RFC Destination may not be updated or deleted, and the schedule may not be modified.

Renaming RFC Destinations

An RFC Destination may be renamed by selecting it in the Administration/RFC Destinations folder and choosing ‘Rename’ from the context menu. Alternatively, select an RFC Destination object in the hierarchy and press F2 to perform in-line editing.

If an RFC Destination is renamed, any RFC Destination parameters that refer to the old name will need to be updated to refer to the new RFC Destination name. However the data and scheduling information associated with the RFC Destination will be retained under its new name.
