SAP HANA Migration Assessment Summary Excel Report

The SAP HANA Migration Assessment Summary Excel report provides a summary of the upgrade tasks in each of the Development, Testing, Integration, Security and Training areas. It also provides an estimate of the time required to perform each task, based upon the Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT). The report includes the following spreadsheets.

Dashboard

The Dashboard spreadsheet includes the following charts.

  • The # of Objects column chart summarizes the number of objects that require attention in each of the upgrade areas.
  • The Effort (Days) column chart summarizes the number of days’ effort required to complete the tasks in each of the upgrade areas. These values are calculated in the D1 (hidden) spreadsheet.
  • The Elapsed (Days) column chart summarizes the number of days’ effort required to complete the tasks in each of the upgrade areas, given the available resources set in the Resources spreadsheet. These values are calculated in the D1 (hidden) spreadsheet.

  • The Resources column chart summarizes the number of full-time employees assigned to the project in each of the upgrade areas. These values may be set in the Resources spreadsheet.

Scope of Work

The Scope of Work spreadsheet lists the tasks identified for the upgrade, grouped into the Development, Testing, Integration, Security and Training upgrade areas. For each task, the Errors column lists the number of objects which may result in an error following the upgrade, and the Warning column lists the number of objects for which a warning condition has been identified.

SoW Data

The SoW Data spreadsheet contains the raw data used in the Dashboard and Scope of Work spreadsheets. It lists the number of errors and warnings identified for each upgrade task.

PERT

The SAP HANA Migration Assessment Summary Excel Report uses the Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) to provide an estimate of the number of days required for each upgrade task. The PERT spreadsheet contains Optimistic, Pessimistic and Typical estimates for the number of objects that may be reviewed in one day. These values may be adjusted as required. From these estimates, a PERT value is calculated for each upgrade area as follows:

PERT Value = (O + 4T + P) / 6

Resources

The Resources spreadsheet allows you to specify how many full-time employees are assigned to each of the upgrade areas. These values are displayed in the Dashboard spreadsheet’s Resources chart.

Help

This spreadsheet includes help for each of the spreadsheets in the SAP HANA Migration Assessment Summary Excel report.

D1 (hidden)

The D1 (hidden) spreadsheet lists the number of objects that require attention in each of the upgrade areas. The number of days’ effort required for each of the upgrade areas is calculated as follows:

Effort (Days) = # of Objects / PERT Value

These values are displayed in the Dashboard spreadsheet’s Effort (Days) chart.

The Elapsed (Days) column for each of the upgrade areas is calculated as follows:

Elapsed (Days) = Effort (Days) / Resources assigned to this upgrade area.
