Step 5 (To-Be) - ZIPping the Downloaded Extract Files

The downloaded extract files from the To-Be system must be uploaded into LiveCompare from a ZIP files in order to be used in an SAP HANA migration assessment. For SAP kernel releases 700 and above (if the NO_ZIP option is unchecked), the extract program automatically creates a To-Be ZIP archive named LiveCompareLUX.zip. For SAP kernel releases below 700, or if the NO_ZIP option is checked, the extracted files should be added to a ZIP archive manually.

SAP Kernel Releases 700 and Above

For SAP kernel releases 700 and above, carry out the following steps:

  1. In the To-Be folder or the To-Be application server LUX_<timestamp> directory, rename the LiveCompareLUX.zip archive as <SAP System ID>-To-Be.zip.
  2. If a LUX archive was created on your To-Be application server, copy it to your LiveCompare server. If you are transferring the archive using FTP, be sure to transfer it in Binary mode.

SAP Kernel Releases Below 700

For SAP kernel releases below 700, carry out the following steps:

  1. Create a ZIP archive from the To-Be folder or the To-Be application server’s LUX_<timestamp> directory. Rename the ZIP archive as <SAP System ID>-To-Be.zip.
  2. If the LUX files were downloaded to your To-Be application server, copy the LUX archive to your LiveCompare server. If you are transferring the files using FTP, be sure to transfer them in Binary mode.
