Check for Index Building Jobs
This workflow checks the specified RFC Destination for the SAP jobs that create and update the Where Used indexes needed by LiveCompare’s Where Used, Uses What and Find Object Links actions. The following SAP jobs are checked:
Job | Description |
---|---|
EU_INIT | Creates initial Where Used indexes for all customer defined programs. |
EU_PUT | Updates Where Used indexes for all customer defined programs transported into the system. |
EU_REORG | Performs period reorganization of Where Used indexes for all customer defined programs. |
The results are stored in the Index Job Data Table dataset, which has the following columns:
Column | Description |

System | The RFC Destination checked for index building jobs. |
JobName | The name of a job. |
Description | The description for the job. |
Creator | The SAP user who created the job. |
StartDate | The job’s start date. |
StartTime | The job’s start time. |
EndDate | The job’s end date. |
EndTime | The job’s end time. |
Status | The job’s execution status, either Aborted, Finished, Ready, Released, Running or Scheduled. |
Creating RFC Destinations
Before you begin, you will need to create an RFC Destination for the SAP system you wish to analyze.
Preparing the Workflow
To prepare the Check for Index Building Jobs workflow, drag its workflow template from the Templates folder into your own workspace, then modify the workflow as follows:
To specify the system to analyze:

Select the RFC Destination parameter and choose ‘Edit RFC Destination’ from its context menu to display the RFC Destination dialog.

Select the RFC Destination for the system to analyze, then click ‘Save’
Save the workflow using the ‘Save’ toolbar button.
Running the Workflow
To run the Check for Index Building Jobs workflow, click the ‘Run’ toolbar button, choose ‘Run Now’ from the context menu or press F5. The currently running workflow action is marked with an animated display. When the workflow execution has completed, select the Index Job Data dataset and choose ‘View Details’ from the context menu to view the job results.
