Check RFC Destinations
This workflow checks that LiveCompare can access each of the RFC Destinations that have been defined in the Administration hierarchy. It tests each RFC Destination in turn by calling the Read Table Data workflow. This workflow tests the RFC Destination by reading one row from a table in the specified system.
To be successful, the Read Table Data workflow will have to pass a critical authorization check that is delivered in the LiveCompare core authorization transport, and execute a call to a remote function that is delivered in the LiveCompare core transport. When the test has completed the Check RFC Destinations workflow continues with the next RFC Destination.
The results are stored in the Final Result Table dataset, which has the following columns:

Sysid | The system ID of the SAP Application Server or Message Server. |
Ashost | The DNS name, domain name or IP address of the SAP Application Server or Message Server. |
Instance | The application instance number of the SAP system. |
Client | The SAP client. |
Lang | The SAP logon language. |
UserID | The SAP user ID used for this connection. |
Rel | The system’s SAP release. |
OS | The system’s operating system. |
Kernel | The SAP system’s kernel release. |
Status | The results of the RFC Destination check, either ‘Succeeded’ or ‘Failed’. |
IMG_Status | This column is set to ‘Done’ if the RFC Destination’s IMG has been downloaded. |
IMG_User | The LiveCompare user who downloaded the IMG. |
IMG_Time | The date and time when the IMG was downloaded. |
OLC_Status | This column is set to ‘OK’ if an Object Links Cache database is available for the RFC Destination, to ‘Incomplete’ if the Object Links Cache database is in the process of being created, or to <blank> if no Object Links Cache database is available. |
OLC_Start_Time | The start time for the creation of the Object Links Cache database. |
OLC_End_Time | The end time for the creation of the Object Links Cache database. |
PHD_App_Stats | The number of performance history data Application Statistics records available for the RFC Destination. |
PHD_User_Stats | The number of performance history data Users Statistics records available for the RFC Destination. |
PHD_Source | The source from which the RFC Destination’s performance history data was obtained, either PHD (LiveCompare RFC), RFC (SAP Native RFC) or XDS (External Data Source). |
PHD_Last_Run_Time | The date and time when performance history data was last retrieved for the RFC Destination. |
UPL_Sum | The number of UPL summary data records available for the RFC Destination. |
UPL_Last_Run_Time | The date and time when UPL data was last retrieved for the RFC Destination. |
UPL_Start_Date | The start date for the retrieval of UPL data from this RFC Destination, in the format YYYYMMDD. |
SDD_Last_Run_Time | The start date for the retrieval of short dump data from this RFC Destination. in the format YYYYMMDD. |
SDD_Start_Date | The start date for the retrieval of short dump data from this RFC Destination. in the format YYYYMMDD. |
SDD_Months | The number of months of short dump data requested for the RFC Destination. |
If LiveCompare is project-controlled, the workflow only checks the RFC Destinations in your currently selected project.
Preparing the Workflow
To prepare the Check RFC Destinations workflow, drag its workflow template from the Templates folder into your own workspace. The workflow does not need to be modified.
Running the Workflow
To run the Check RFC Destinations workflow, click the ‘Run’ toolbar button, choose ‘Run Now’ from the context menu or press F5. The currently running workflow action is marked with an animated display. When the workflow execution has completed, select the Final Result dataset and choose ‘View Details’ from the context menu to view the RFC Destination results.
