Set a counter alert threshold

To set an alert threshold on a counter, it is necessary to display the Counter Configuration wizard:

• from the monitored machines tree, in the Alert Thresholds after selecting a counter, or
• from the monitored machines tree, in the Alert Thresholds after clicking on the Configure Counters button and selecting a counter.

Enable alert triggering: Checking the check box causes alerts to be triggered when the alert thresholds defined for the selected counter are exceeded.

Add a new threshold: Clicking the button adds a new alert threshold to the selected counter.

Remove the selected threshold: Clicking the button deletes the selected alert threshold.

Move the selected threshold up: Clicking the button moves the selected alert threshold up the displayed list.

Move the selected threshold down: Clicking the button moves the selected alert threshold down the displayed list.

Restore the default setting of the selected threshold: Clicking the button restores the default alert thresholds for the selected counter.

Copy alert thresholds: Clicking the button makes a copy of the alert thresholds for the selected counter.

Paste alert thresholds: Clicking the button pastes the copied alert thresholds.

• To set an alert threshold from the counter definition

1. Select the required counter in the monitored machines tree.
2. In the right-hand panel, click on the Alert Thresholds tab. The wizard is displayed.

• To set an alert threshold on a counter from the monitor definition

1. Select the required Monitor in the monitored machines tree.
2. In the right-hand panel, click Configure Counters.
3. Select the required counter, and click on the Alert Thresholds tab in the right-hand panel. The wizard is displayed.
