Create, Edit and Archive Parameters
qTest Manager features Parameters to manage testing data for Test Case steps. You can now include parameters in Test Cases and define parameter values to create Test Runs. Users can create, edit, and archive Parameters.
Accessing Parameters
Select Parameters from the 9-box in the upper right corner of the qTest header.
The default Parameters page is displayed. This page provides a list of parameters which belong to all qTest Manager projects that you can access. Each row of the grid is a parameter with an identifier, status, description, and its last modified date and time.
Filtering and Sorting Parameters
Filtering parameters
You can filter parameters by:

Projects: filter parameters that are associated with one or multiple projects, if no project is selected, parameters of any project will be returned.

Status: filter parameters that have statuses of Active, Inactive or Archived. If no status is selected, parameters of any status will be returned.

Identifier: parameters that have identifiers containing the keyword you enter in the "Identifier" field will be returned

Status: filter parameters having statuses of Active, Inactive or Archived

Created Date: filter parameters by date creation

Updated Date: filter parameters by update date
Sorting Parameters
To sort parameters, select a column in the parameter list to toggle sorting by ascending or descending order.
Create a Parameter

In Parameters. select the '+ CREATE' icon.

The create parameter dialog displays for you to create a new parameter.
Fill in the following fields:
Identifier: unique identifier of the new parameter
Status: by default, the parameter status is Active
Description: enter a description for the new parameter

To add values to the parameter, select the + VALUE icon, and a popup dialog will be shown.

Enter your values. Each parameter value requires one line, so you can press Enterto create as many values as you want. Select OK.

To assign the parameter to your project(s), select the Projects drop-down menu. Select the project(s) that you want associated with your new parameter.
By default, all projects are originally selected.
A parameter must be assigned to at least one qTest Manager project. Otherwise, it cannot be created.
You can modify the projects associated with your parameter by returning to the+PROJECTdrop-down menu and either selecting or deselecting wanted or unwanted projects.

Select OK.

Select Save.
Your newly created parameter will be shown in the Parameter grid.
View and Update an Existing Parameter
Update Basic Parameter Information

In Parameters, select a parameter's identifier from the grid. A parameter detail dialog displays.

You can view and update parameter information, such as Identifier, Status, and Description.
The @symbol indicates how to define the parameter in qTest Manager.
Update Parameter Values

To update the parameter's value name, select the field in the Value column, and type the new value name.

You can also delete the value by selecting the red X icon.
Update Parameter's Associated Projects

Click on Projects tab to view projects that the parameter is currently assigned to. To change the assigned projects, select the + PROJECT icon, and then select or deselect project(s) that you want to assign to or remove from your parameter.
View Test Cases Tab
From the Test Case Tab, you can select either the Test Case ID or the Test Case Name link to open the Test Case in qTest Manager.
View Dataset Tab
From the Datasets tab, you can select the Dataset Name to open the "Dataset detail page" in a new browser tab.
Archive Parameter
To archive a parameter, follow these steps:

On the Parameters home page, select the Action icon associated with that parameter.

Select Archive from the menu.

You can also archive a parameter by selecting ARCHIVE in the parameter detail dialog.
