Here's what's new:

API Engine 3.0

API Engine 3.0 version 14.2 supports signing SOAP messages with attachments.
You can use Avro schema-based serialization and SASL authentication for Kafka messages.
Message Transmission Optimization Mechanism (MTOM) allows you to define custom Content-Type and Content-Transfer-Encoding for message attachments.
New grant type for Authentication via OAuth 2.0: Authorization Code with PKCE.

Engines 3.0

Tricentis Test Automation for SAP 14.2 offers exciting new features for Engines 3.0:

Improved Checkin all and Update all performance

Checking in your objects and updating your workspace are now significantly faster.

Log Server

The Log Server has been renamed to "Log Viewer". It has a new user interface and enhanced functionality, such as new log filters.

SAP Engine 3.0

SAP Engine 3.0 no longer supports SAP GUI version 7.3.
SAP Engine 3.0 supports SAP GUI version 7.7.
SAP Engine 3.0 supports SAP Belize theme.

SAP Solution Manager Integration

A new setting allows you to automatically create a new TestCase and start recording.

SAP Web Extension 3.0

Tricentis Test Automation for SAP now supports:

SAP Business Client version 7.7
SAPUI5 version 1.87
Fiori 1.84
Recent version of SAP SuccessFactors (2h 2020).

Additionally, we have enhanced the SAP Web Extension 3.0 with the following functionality:

The default level of the Filtered items in XScan only shows SAP Fiori-specific controls.
Support of a new SAP SuccessFactors combo box type. You can steer it as a standard combo box control.
Support of complex SAP Fiori controls: Toolbar, DatePicker, and Calendar.
A new Module allows you to pause execution while a default or custom busy indicator is visible on the screen.
Improved steering capabilities of the SAP Tile and SAP Message Toast Modules.
You can now steer SAP Fiori Tables that contain selection plugins.
You can now steer the SAP Fiori Analytical Table as a Table control.

Standard subset enhancements

The Tricentis Test Automation for SAP 14.2 Standard subset has new Modules and extended the functionality of existing Modules:

Identify and selectWin32 context menus with the new TBox Context Menu Module.
Move and rename files with the new TBox Move/Rename File Module.
You can now use wildcards with the TBox File Existence and TBox Delete Buffer Modules.
You can now save the result of a file comparison to a specified file with the Module TBox File Compare.
You can now add a byte order mark (BOM) to files you create with the Module TBox Read/Create File.

Support of Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and Oracle 19c

Tricentis Test Automation for SAP 14.2 supports Microsoft® SQL Server 2019 and Oracle 19c.

Tricentis Automation Recording Assistant

The latest version has improved steering capabilities for SAP Successfactor 2020 H2.

Additionally, 14.2 offers the following enhancements:

The new autosave functionality allows you to recover crashed recordings.
You can now create manual TestSteps with the Tricentis Automation Recording Assistant.
A new setting allows you to configure the synchronization timeout when you play back your recording.

Tricentis Test Automation for SAP Commander

Test Automation for SAP Commander 14.2 uses ODP.NET version 4.121.2.0.

Additionally, we've extended our documentation on how to prepare the Oracle client for common repositories.

The latest version of Tricentis Test Automation for SAP Commander also includes auto-suggestions for Tricentis Test Automation for SAP test configuration parameters (TCPs). You don't have to know the name of the TCP or check the manual anymore.

Test Automation for SAP Rescan

As of Tricentis Test Automation for SAP 14.2, you can easily update control properties when you rescan an application or map controls in Tricentis Test Automation for SAP Rescan. Tricentis Test Automation for SAP Rescan allows you to compare control properties and modify them to your needs.

Tricentis Test Automation for SAP User Administration

Tricentis Test Automation for SAP 14.2 allows you to define the expiration date and scope of access of personal access tokens.

Tricentis Test Automation for SAP XScan

You can now save Modules directly from Tricentis Test Automation for SAP XScan to hard disk if Tricentis Test Automation for SAP Commander shuts down during scanning. You can later import these Modules.

XBrowser Engine 3.0

Soft hyphens for HTML elements in control properties are now hidden by default. A new setting allows you to display soft hyphens if you do want to see them.
Additional new settings allow you to disable the injection of AjaxTracer and ShadowDomUnlocker for webpages. Or specify how long Tricentis Test Automation for SAP delays the injection of the AjaxTracer.

Known issues

Test Automation Server for SAP installer: Service dependencies are not set for Test Data Service

Dependencies for Service Discovery and Authentication Service are not set when installing Test Data Service. Therefore, when you restart Test Data Service manually, it won't start unless Service Discovery and Authentication Service are already running.
