Enable automatic TestCase creation

You can enable Tricentis Test Automation for SAP to automatically create a TestCase with TestSteps after you open Tricentis Test Automation for SAP from SAP Solution Manager. This allows you to skip creating the initial TestSteps and jump right into recording your TestCase.

Prerequisites

To use automatic TestCase creation, you must set your SAP password in Tricentis Test Automation for SAP.

Enable automatic TestCase creation

To enable automatic TestCase creation, go to Settings->Tbox->Engines->SAP and set the value of Automatic TestCase creation and start of the Recorder to True.

Tricentis Test Automation for SAP can now perform the following actions automatically:

  1. After you run SAP Solution Manager Test Configuration, a folder and a TestCase with the same name as your Test Configuration is created in Tricentis Test Automation for SAP. It contains three ready-to-use TestSteps:

    • SAP Logon that opens the SAP connection.

    • SAP Login that signs you in to SAP.

    • SAP Toolbar that opens the transaction that you specified in SAP Solution Manager Test Configuration.

These TestSteps are created out of the Modules with the same names. If your workspace already contains an SAP Logon Module, SAP Login Module, and SAP Toolbar Module, Tricentis Test Automation for SAP reuses them for this TestCase. Otherwise, Tricentis Test Automation for SAP creates these Modules automatically.

  2. The execution of these TestSteps starts. This opens a new SAP window.

  3. The Recorder starts and records your actions in SAP.

  4. When you stop the Recorder, Tricentis Test Automation for SAP moves the recorded TestCase to the previously created folder that contains the automatic TestCase.
