Create token

In Tricentis Test Automation for SAP User Administration you can create personal access tokens for API calls and define the amount of access that is granted to tokens.

Generate Token dialog

To generate a token, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on Add new. This opens the Generate Token dialog.

  2. Enter a Name for your token.

  3. Click the icon to select the Expiration date of the token. By default, the expiration date is set to three months from the creation date.

  4. Optionally, change the scope of access to define the amount of access that is granted to your token. By default, Full Access is enabled which gives the token access to all scopes within Tricentis Test Automation for SAP User Administration.

If you don't want to grant full access, disable the Full Access checkbox and select one or more scopes from the drop-down list:

    • AuthenticationServiceApi

    • DexApi

    • FileServiceApi

    • ProjectServiceApi

    • TestDataServiceApi

    • ToscaAutomationObjectServiceApi

  5. Click Generate Token.

This generates a Personal access token (base64 encoded), Client ID, and Client Secret. Click the icon in the subsequent dialog to copy the token.

Generated token

After expiration, the expiration date appears in the Tokens list on the user account page. Note that if the token has expired, it can no longer authenticate.

You can only view a generated token once, at the time when you create it. Therefore, Tricentis recommends that you copy the new token and store it in a secure place.
