Use current time as part of the log file name

This option determines whether the current time is used in the name of the log file.

Log file trace level

The trace level to be used for the log file.

Output trace level

The trace level to be used for the output window.

The trace levels determine which kinds of messages are written/shown. The hierarchy of trace levels is additive, as shown in the table below:

At this level, information messages about the Tricentis TDM Studio current processing status are written/displayed in addition to errors and warning messages. These messages could concern activities such as opening, loading or saving a project and they could show the current data generation status.

At this level, there are no predefined values. It can be used for user-defined debug operations.

This level shows which templates were run.

This level additionally shows which user functions are used. This includes any parameters passed as well as any return values.

Optimize performance of trace output

If you select this option, messages of the data generation process are not displayed (discarded) in the output window. This is important for data generation which generates a large number of messages. This improves the processing performance. The messages of a syntax check will never be discarded. The output in the log file is not affected by this setting.
