The Tricentis team is excited to unveil Tricentis Tosca 13.0.
This chapter gives you an overview of our Tosca Version 13.0 key features.
For a detailed list of all new features, please download the Technical Release Notes from the Tricentis Support Portal.
API Engine 3.0
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.0, you can configure web service security in the API Connection Manager with a user name token. Furthermore, you can use the signature security option to sign multiple parts of a message. Additionally, our newest version has improved security for passwords in API connections.
With Tosca 13.0, you can use a file connection in the API Engine to read and write files dynamically.
Furthermore, the API Engine now allows you to create Module Attributes for multiple header properties with the same name. You also can trigger the Update Module function for API Modules via the Tosca REST API now.
Tosca 13.0 offers the new test configuration parameter FlushCookies, which allows you to specify whether the API Engine should delete cookies after each execution.
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.0, you can use a file connection in API Scan to read and write files dynamically.
With Tricentis Tosca 13.0, you can set up Distributed Execution with AOS (Automation Object Service). This setup option has a number of advantages, such as easier setup, faster execution, and better handling of multiple common repositories.
HOST Engine 3.0
With Tricentis Tosca 13.0, you can use HOST Engine in TBox.
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.0, you can migrate Classic HOST Engine objects to TBox.
Improved handling of different Tosca versions
We significantly invested in the Tosca database schema to enhance the handling of different versions. This change solves the incompatibility issues of using different Tosca versions on the same common repository, temporarily in the context of Tosca version upgrades. Or using Tosca Commander versions with different add-ins installed.
We greatly improved and streamlined the process of upgrading Tosca. The version of Engines 3.0 is now unbound from the version of Tosca. This means that when you upgrade Tosca, you only need to recompile engine customizations if there is a major change in Engines 3.0.
Mail Engine 3.0
With Tricentis Tosca 13.0, you can save the email attachments, move emails to a specific folder on your mail server and reply to an email.
Mobile Engine 3.0
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.0, you can scan your mobile applications with the new user-friendly Mobile Scan.
With this version, Tosca also saves the devices and applications you add in the Mobile Scan in mobile configurations.
With Tricentis Tosca 13.0, you can use DokuSnapper to document Mobile Engine 3.0 TestCases.
Furthermore, you can automate iOS versions up to 13.1 and Android versions up to 10.
Mobile Exploratory Testing
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.1, Mobile Exploratory Testing will be no longer supported. The required instrumentation of mobile applications is a blocker for many use cases. A new solution will be introduced in upcoming releases.
Recover Deleted Objects
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.0, administrators can easily recover previously deleted objects, in the Change History for Project window.
SAP Engine 3.0
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.0, you can automate the new type of traffic lights in transaction FBCJ.
Test Data Service
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.0, you can provide test data into the TDS or export it to a CSV and Excel file.
Test Data Service now contains some heavily requested improvements from customers concerning the use of it in their enterprise environments.
Furthermore, Tricentis Tosca 13.0 allows you to create Oracle repositories for the Test Data Service.
Test Management Platform
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.0, the redesigned Tricentis Tosca Installer makes the installation process smoother and enables you to configure the software components easily.
Furthermore, Tricentis Tosca13.0 allows you to back up database repositories without including versioning history.
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.0, you can update Testsheets that you created with the Vital Checks Wizard through your APIs. This allows you to seamlessly integrate your Vital Checks tests to your continuous integration chain.
Additionally, we improved the execution speed of metadata tests. Connections now remain open between metadata tests which decreases the overall execution time significantly and makes your feedback cycle shorter.
With Tosca 13.0, you can use absolute and relative tolerances for numeric comparison in the Row by Row Comparison Module. This allows you to create tests that can deal with numeric differences between two data sets.
Furthermore, Tosca BI now automatically populates the connections that you use in TestCase templates and resulting TestSteps via the BI Wizards. This reduces your manual effort after test creation.
With Tricentis Tosca 13.0, the Recorder has become faster and more user-friendly. You can record a TestCase just by using the application as you normally do.
Tricentis User Administration
With Tricentis Tosca 13.0, administrators can invite users to register themselves individually on Tricentis User Administration.
Furthermore, the new filter functionality for synchronized groups allows administrators to find groups from large Active Directory environments quickly.
