Add or delete types in the Test Data Object Viewer

The Test Data Object Viewer web application enables you to create new types or delete existing ones in your test data repositories.

Create types in the Test Data Object Viewer

You can use the Test Data Object Viewer to create a type in your test data repository.

To create a type, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Test Data Object Viewer.

  2. Open the repository where you want to add a new type.

  3. Click Add Type. The Add Type dialog opens.

  1. Enter the Name of the new type.

  2. Optionally, check the Import data from file box if you want to immediately import data to the newly created type.

    Specify the following:

    • File: Use the Browse button to choose the file to import.

      In case of a .csv file, specify the following:

      • Encoding: Select what type of encoding you want to use. The default is UTF-8.

      • Separator: Specify the character you want to use as a field separator. The default is ;.

  3. Click Ok to add the type and close the dialog.

Delete types in the Test Data Object Viewer

You can use the Test Data Object Viewer to delete a type from your test data repository.

To delete an existing type, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Test Data Object Viewer.

  2. Open the repository from where you want to delete an existing type.

  3. Select the type you want to delete, and click the delete icon. The Delete Type dialog is displayed.

  1. Click Delete to remove the selected type and close the dialog.
