Create tests with Tosca BI Wizards

Tosca BI offers six test types to help you ensure data quality throughout all stages of your DWH/BI testing cycle:

Pre-screening: File Wizard

The Pre-Screening: File Wizard supports you in detecting data errors early on. Use it to verify flat files before they are loaded into another system.

Vital Checks: File to Database Wizard

The Vital Checks: File to Database Wizard allows you to test a source file against a target database.

Vital Checks: Database to Database Wizard

Use the Tosca BI Vital Checks: Database to Database Wizard to test data copies or data moves from one layer to another.

Field Tests: Single Database Wizard

The Field Tests: Single Database Wizard enables you to validate business rules. Typical scenarios are validating whether a product ID has the correct format or whether foreign key relationships are adhered to.

The Field Tests: Single Database Wizard extracts the required information from a single database.

Field Tests: Database to Database Wizard

Use the Field Tests: Database to Database Wizard to compare data from a source system to data from a target system.

Tosca BI offers various field tests, such as Comparing Sum Averages, Minimum Values, Duplicate Values and more.

Reconciliation: Row by Row Comparison Module

Reconciliation tests include a complete row by row comparison of two datasets in two separate systems. These datasets can be compared without having to load the entire target system into memory.

Reconciliation: Row by Row Comparison (SSAS OLAP) Wizard

Use the Reconciliation: Row by Row Comparison (SSAS OLAP) Wizard, if you have data in SSAS OLAP cubes and want to perform multidimensional analysis of your source and target data.

The Wizard help overlay

Tosca BI offers a help overlay with additional, in-system information.

To activate the help overlay, click the icon in the top right corner of the respective Wizard.

The subsequent help overlay displays additional icons in the Wizard:

• Click for information on the current step.

• Click for information on other elements in the Wizard.

To close the respective help window, click on the x in the top right corner:

To close the help overlay altogether, click the help icon again.
