Check an agent's status

To check the current status of a Tosca Distribution Agent, use either of the following options:

• check the status on the Distributed Execution Monitor

• check the status in Tosca Commander

• check the status on the agent machine

If you start your agent without graphical user interface (GUI), you cannot check its status on the agent machine.

Check an agent's status on the Distributed Execution Monitor

You can check the status of Tosca Distribution Agents on the Distributed Execution Monitor.

Check an agent's status in Tosca Commander

To view the current state of a Tosca Distribution Agent, follow the steps below:

1. Navigate to the Execution section.

2. Right-click Configurations and select Refresh Agents from the context menu.

The agent icon indicates the agent status:

Icon	Description
	Starting: The agent is either started, or is starting if it was disconnected.
	Idle: The agent is ready for execution.
	Executing: The agent is running ExecutionLists.
	ExecutionCanceling: The execution of the TestEvent is being canceled.
	Failure: An error has occurred.
	Pause: The agent was paused.

If the agent encountered an error during execution, Tosca Commander shows a brief error description in the Description column.

Check an agent's status on the agent machine

To view the current state of a Tosca Distribution Agent, hover the mouse pointer over the agent icon in the Windows taskbar.

If the agent encountered an error during execution, the window also shows a brief error description.

In addition to an agent's state, you can check the ID and Name of the ExecutionList and the ExecutionEntry currently being run by this agent. To do so, click the agent icon in the Windows taskbar.
