Exit and restart an agent

In some cases, you need to exit and restart an agent. For example if you have just set custom configuration parameters on the Tosca Distribution Server, or if you want to run test analyses without the agent running.

The procedure to exit and restart an agent depends on whether you started the agent with or without graphical user interface (GUI):

Exit and restart an agent that you started with graphical user interface (GUI).
Exit and restart an agent that you started without GUI.

Exit and restart an agent started with GUI

To exit and restart an agent that you started with GUI, follow the steps below:

Make sure the agent is Idle.
Right-click the agent icon in the Windows taskbar and select Stop and exit the agent from the context menu.

Exit an agent

In the subsequent dialog, click Yes to confirm.

The agent then disappears from the Windows taskbar and from the configuration categories in Tosca Commander.

Start the agent.

Exit and restart an agent that you started without GUI

To exit and restart an agent that you started without GUI, follow the steps below:

Make sure the agent is Idle.
In the command prompt where you started the agent, press Enter.

Start the agent.
