Use Tricentis Tosca Server with an HTTPS binding

All Tricentis Tosca Server features allow for an HTTPS binding to transfer data.

If you want to use an HTTPS binding, install Tricentis Tosca Server with the setting HTTPS. After the installation has been completed, you have to specify a valid signed certificate for the Tricentis Tosca Server website in the IIS Manager.

Defining a certificate in the IIS Manager

Follow these steps to specify a certificate in the IIS Manager:

  1. Open the IIS Manager by selecting Run... from the Windows Start Menu and enter the command inetmgr.

  2. Select the Tricentis Tosca Server website ToscaServer from the Sites folder. Under Actions on the right-hand side, click on Bindings....

    This opens the window Site Bindings.

  3. Select the preconfigured https binding and click on Edit....Select a valid SSL certificate and click on OK to confirm your selection. Close the Site Bindings window.

Adapting the SSL settings

Adapt the SSL settings for the Tricentis Tosca Server website as follows:

  1. In the IIS Manager, select the Tricentis Tosca Server website ToscaServer from the Sites folder and double-click on the option SSL Settings which is located in the Home window of the website.

  2. Select the option Require SSL. Under Actions on the right-hand side, click on Apply.

  3. Check if the SSL settings have also been applied to the feature websites Analyze, DistributionServerService, Explore and Monitor.

Start the Tricentis Tosca Server website

  1. Select the Tricentis Tosca Server website ToscaServer. Under Manage Website on the right-hand side, click on Start.
