The Tricentis team is excited to unveil Tricentis Tosca 13.1.
This chapter gives you an overview of our Tosca Version 13.1 key features.
For a detailed list of all new features, please download the Technical Release Notes from the Tricentis Support Portal.
API Scan
Tricentis Tosca 13.1 supports:
-
ActiveMQ Artemis: You can now establish a connection between API Scan and your ActiveMQ Artemis message queues.
-
Amazon SNS messages: You can now establish a connection between API Scan and Amazon SNS topics using Amazon Signature.
-
Amazon SQS messages: You can now establish a connection between API Scan and Amazon SQS queues using Amazon Signature.
We have also added some user experience enhancements. Pressing F5 in API Scan allows you to execute your requests even faster. Additionally, you can now find API Scan via Windows search.
API Engine 3.0
With our newest version of Tricentis Tosca, you can choose from multiple signature methods when you configure Webservice Security.
Furthermore, we support the message brokers ActiveMQ Artemis, Amazon SNS and Amazon SQS. You can now easily create an ActiveMQ Artemis and Amazon Web Services SNS/SQS connection with the API Connection Manager.
Automation Recording Assistant (ARA)
Tricentis Tosca 13.1 includes the new Tricentis Automation Recording Assistant (Tricentis ARA). Tricentis ARA is an improved version of the Recorder which also ships as a separate product.
With Tricentis ARA, you can record your tests in a simpler and more intuitive user interface. It also offers several new functions, such as playing back your recording, editing TestSteps, or adding comments to TestSteps.
Distributed Execution
With Tricentis Tosca 13.1, if you use Distributed Execution with AOS (Automation Object Service), you can configure different test results folders and specify for each TestEvent in which folder the test results should be saved.
Mobile Engine 3.0
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.1, we introduce improvements in the Mobile Scan:
-
You can now see friendly names of applications when you select your device in the Mobile Scan.
-
You can now select native controls directly in the Live View window.
With Tricentis Tosca 13.1, we also introduce new standard Modules for Mobile Engine 3.0:
-
The Switch Mobile App Module, which you can use, for example, to automate multi-factor authentication.
-
The Draw on Screen Module, which you can use, for example, to automate security patterns.
As of now, Android SDK is no longer provided as part of the Tricentis Tosca installation. To use the Mobile Engine 3.0 for Android test automation, you have to install Android SDK Tools manually.
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.1, Mobile Exploratory Testing is no longer supported. A new solution will be introduced in a future release.
PDF Engine 3.0
Tricentis Tosca 13.1 introduces a new way of creating controls in your PDF file. You can now specify an area using its relative position, that is, its location in relation to an anchor element in your PDF file. This is useful if PDF elements always appear in the same position relative to each other, but you can't safely predict their location on the page.
SAP Web Extension 3.0
With Tricentis Tosca 13.1, we support SAP Netweaver Business Client 7.0 and SAP Fiori 1.65.
As of this version, you can select rows in SAP Fiori Grid Tables.
Test Data Management
With Tricentis Tosca 13.1, the Tosca Server supports the following new Test Data Service functionalities:
-
Repository Authentication: You can assign Test Data repositories in Test Data Service with specific read/write/administration rights for user groups from Tosca Server User Administration, thus protecting your repository.
-
Repository Management: You can use the Web UI of Test Data Service to manage repository and type renaming, thus removing the need to do this via API.
-
Consume/Unconsume functions: You can use consumed flags (lock/unlock functions) via Web UI and Standard Module on record and type level, thus removing the need to do this via API.
Test Management Platform
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.1, you can export TestCases from Tricentis Tosca to qTest. The export functionality still has some limitations, but it allows you to have an overview of your TestCases for planning purposes.
With Tricentis Tosca 13.1, the selective backup feature allows you to backup a single ComponentFolder without having to create a backup of the common repository.
Tosca BI
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.1, Tosca BI allows you to log all data that is used in the comparison of a source and target into a file.
Furthermore, our newest version makes testing data that is distributed across databases easier for you. With the new Load Data into Database Module, you can move this data to the same target.
Tosca Orchestrated Service Virtualization (OSV)
Tosca OSV 13.1 identifies objects by ID. This stabilizes automation for your CI/CD pipeline.
Furthermore, you can now establish a secure connection with IBM MQ.
Tricentis Service Configuration
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.1, we introduce password security enhancements. During configuration of the Tricentis Authentication Service, you can now, for instance, define the account lockout duration in hours or the number of unique passwords before re-use.
Furthermore, the new Mail Configuration allows you to configure the SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server to send emails from the Tricentis User Administration.
XBrowser Engine 3.0
As of Tricentis Tosca 13.1, XBrowser Engine 3.0 supports Microsoft Edge based on Chromium.
