Select controls to steer
To steer controls in mobile applications, you must first scan them. You have two options to select controls in XScan:
-
Use the Basic View, to select controls directly in the Live View preview of your device.
-
Use the Advanced View, to select controls via check boxes in XScan. Tricentis recommends this option if you want to change the identification method for your controls or don't want to enable Live View.
To scan mobile controls that you want to steer, follow the steps below:
-
If you have enabled Live View in the Mobile Scan, select the controls directly in the Live View preview of your device.
Alternatively, switch to Advanced View and select controls via the check boxes.
-
Optionally, in the Advanced View, change the identification method for your controls. For instance, you can identify them by their properties. The Mobile Engine 3.0 supports all identification methods except Identify by Image.
-
After you have selected all controls, perform one of the following actions:
-
Click Save, to save the Module and close the scan window.
-
Click Finish Screen, to scan other screens of your mobile application.
-
Finish Screen and Select new Application in the Advanced View
If you use Advanced View and you have enabled Live View prior to scanning, you can use Select on screen to select mobile controls.
To do so, click Select on screen and select the controls directly in the Live View preview of your device.
