Tricentis Tosca Patch Notes Version 13.2 Patch 1-9

This topic provides information on the installation, new features and resolved issues of the Tricentis Tosca patch.

Tricentis Tosca patches are cumulative. The most recent patch for this Tricentis Tosca version contains the newly added features and fixes as well as those from previous patches. You only need to install the latest patch for this Tricentis Tosca version.

As of Tricentis Tosca 13.0, patches are included in our Tricentis Tosca installer. If you want to patch your local installation or are planning to do a new installation, download the installer with the desired patch level. Follow the installation wizard and you are ready to go.

To ensure full functionality, make sure that you have also installed patch 01 or later for Tricentis Tosca Server.

Installation

You can download the installation file from the Support Portal. Unzip all files and run the Tricentis Tosca 13.2 Patch9.exe file.

If you have already installed Tricentis Tosca 13.2 without a patch, make sure to backup all your configuration and setting files before you install this patch.

If you are upgrading to this version from a different, lower version than 13.2, do a backup as described in step 1 below.

To install the patch, follow the steps below:

  1. Back up any altered files in the Tricentis Tosca installation directory, e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\TRICENTIS\Tosca Testsuite\, such as changed setting files (application executable configuration files).

Any settings that you adjusted in %TRICENTIS_ALLUSERS_APPDATA%\Settings are maintained.

Any settings saved under %APPDATA%\Roaming\TRICENTIS\TOSCA TestSuite\7.0.0\Settings\ are maintained.

  1. Install the patch.

  2. If you are patching version 13.2, reapply altered settings to the configuration files installed by the patch.

If you are updating from a different, lower version than 13.2, you can restore the altered files you have backed up.

If required, run the Tricentis Tosca 13.2 Patch9.exe file with administrator rights.

You can also perform an unattended installation of the patch.

To do so, enter Tricentis Tosca 13.2 Patch9.exe /s /clone_wait /V"<MSI commands>" at the command prompt.

For information on installation parameters, see chapter "Install Tricentis Tosca in unattended mode". Note that the only applicable MSI command for patches is /qn.

Important security update

Classic Java Engine: Security update (since Patch 9)

This patch fixes a potential security issue for Classic Java Engine, which has a dependency on a vulnerable version of log4j. We have closely examined this dependency and don't believe it can be exploited. However, Tricentis takes security seriously. Consequently, the log4j file has been removed from the setup.

New Features

For this patch, we have added the following features:

Hide Soft Hyphens (since Patch 8)

With this patch, we have added a new setting Hide Soft Hyphens.

Encryption of TCPs in database (since Patch 6)

Test configuration parameters (TCPs) which are defined as DataType Password are now stored encrypted in the Database.

Salesforce Engine 3.0 improvements (since Patch 4):

With this patch, you can use the following Salesforce Engine 3.0 features:

The Salesforce Scan generates Save buttons that can be used in both Inline Edit and New/Edit layouts.

Salesforce Engine 3.0 introduces Container properties for Salesforce controls. The use of the Container property assures that controls can be identified uniquely, and that AssociateLabels can be condensed.

All controls in Modules generated by the Salesforce Scan contain the Container property.

The Salesforce Scan generates Related List buttons.

You can scan and steer Salesforce Console expanded lookups in Salesforce Lightning Experience.

Salesforce Engine 3.0 works smoother with its reworked control recognition logic.

Salesforce Scan can scan currency fields with value ranges. Therefore, you can now scan and steer currency fields.

The Save buttons are now reusable between New/Edit layout and Inline edit.

Mobile Engine 3.0 proxy configuration (since Patch 4):
