Create Component Folders

ComponentFolders provide you with added flexibility and allow you to structure your tests. Within ComponentFolders, you can create separate subfolders for Execution, Modules, TestCases, TestCase-Design, Issues, TestPlanning, Requirements, as well as further ComponentFolders.

You can then create specific properties and configuration parameters that only apply to individual ComponentFolders and the contents within.

To create a ComponentFolder, right-click the project root element and select Create ComponentFolder from the mini toolbar.

User-defined properties for ComponentFolders

You can create user-defined properties for all ComponentFolders or for individual ComponentFolders.

Create properties for all ComponentFolders

You can add user-defined properties to ComponentFolders on the project root (see chapter "Create properties on the project root"). These properties are applied to ComponentFolders and any objects beneath the ComponentFolder and can only be edited in the admin mode.

User-defined properties that are created on the project root apply to all ComponentFolders.

Create properties for individual ComponentFolders

You can also create property definitions and, beneath them, user-defined properties for individual ComponentFolders (see chapter "Create properties for ComponentFolders"). These properties are applied to ComponentFolders and any object beneath, but they can be created even if the admin mode has not been enabled.

User-defined properties that are created for individual ComponentFolders only apply to the according ComponentFolder.

Quick navigation in the ribbon menu

  1. Click on the option Section and hover over the section you want to open in a separate window.

All folders contained in this section and the names of the ComponentFolders where the folders are located, are provided in the respective drop-down list.
