Create Modules and ModuleAttributes manually

Creating classic Modules and XModules is similar in Tosca Commander. Once you have created a Module, you are able to create ModuleAttributes manually and you can add properties.

  1. Select the folder in which the new Module should be created.

  2. Select the option Create Module or Create XModule from the context menu. You can also left-click on the Module folder and select Create Object->Module or Create Object->XModule from the dynamic menu Modules.

  3. Tosca Commander™ will create a new Module at the required position and automatically offers to rename it. We recommend that you assign a meaningful name to your Module.

For further details on Module properties, please see also chapter "Default properties for Modules".

  4. Select the option Create ModuleAttribute from the context menu of the Module or XModule to create ModuleAttributes. You can also left-click on the Module and select Create Object->ModuleAttribute (classic Module) or Create Object->ModuleAttribute (XModule) from the dynamic menu Modules.

For further details on Module properties, please see also chapter "Default properties for Modules".

The context menu option Create Folder and the option Create Folder->Folder in the dynamic menu Modules enable you to create new folders. These folders help you structure the tree view and arrange your Modules accordingly.

Importing ObjectMaps (classic Module)

To create Modules you can also import ObjectMaps into Tosca Commander™ if you have saved them as xmlfiles beforehand. ObjectMaps contain information on the Modules (see chapter "Properties for classic Modules"). You can create the xmlfiles of the ObjectMaps when you scan Modules (see chapter "Starting Tosca Wizard").

Example: ObjectMap with ObjectControl

  1. Right-click on the folder where the you would like to create new Module(s) and select Import ObjectMaps from the context menu.

  2. Select one or more ObjectMaps from the subsequent dialog box and click on Open.

Selecting ObjectMaps

Tosca Commander™ imports your selected ObjectMaps as Modules. The entry LongName of the ObjectMap is applied as the Module name.
