Changed functionality

This chapter lists changed functionality of Tricentis Tosca 13.1, compared to version 13.2.

Removed "Show token" option in Tricentis User Administration

The Show token option on the Account page of the Tricentis User Administration is removed. Unlike in previous versions, you can only view a token once, at the time when you create it. Therefore, Tricentis recommends that you copy the new token and store it in a secure place.

Tosca Unattended Execution

With this version, you can scale Tosca Unattended Execution more easily. The Tosca RDP Server now runs as a service on the same machine as the Tosca Distribution Agent, and the Tosca RDP Server is included in the installation of the Tosca Distribution Agent. Previously, the Tosca RDP Server and the Tosca Distribution Agent ran on different machines, and the Tosca RDP Server had to be installed separately.

Previously, as you increased the number of agents, you soon ran into memory limitations on the Tosca RDP Server to which each agent connected. Now every agent connects to its own Tosca RDP Server service, which means that the performance of unattended execution is no longer negatively affected by a high number of agents.

This leads to the following changes:

  1. You can no longer limit the maximum number of RDP connections of a Tosca RDP Server or set up multiple Tosca RDP Servers.

  2. You need to follow a different procedure to specify the timeout to open the RDP connection.

  3. The Tosca RDP Server no longer tries to re-establish the connection to the Tosca Distribution Agent after the connection is lost by default. To change this, specify the reconnection attempts to the Tosca Distribution Agent.

XBrowser Engine 3.0

As of Tricentis Tosca 13.2, each new XBrowser Engine 3.0 Module that you create with XScan automatically receives the ControlFramework steering parameter. The value of this parameter is the ID of the control framework used in your web application. When steering your web application, Tosca Commander does not check for control frameworks whose ID is not included in the value of the ControlFramework steering parameter. This leads to performance improvements.

For Modules that you created with Tosca Commander version 13.1 or older, you can also manually specify which control frameworks Tosca Commander should check for.
