Upgrade Tosca Extensions

This chapter contains information on how to upgrade Tricentis Tosca Extensions from version 13.1 to version 13.2.

Tosca BI - Tosca Data Integrity

As of Tricentis Tosca 13.2, Tosca BI runs under the name Tosca Data Integrity (Tosca DI). This is just a name change; Tosca Data Integrity offers the same functionality as Tosca BI.

If you open workspaces that you created in previous Tricentis Tosca versions, existing Tosca BI folders and Modules still use the name Tosca BI or BI. In a new workspace, the respective folders and Modules use the new name Tosca Data Integrity and the abbreviations Data Integrity and DI.

To use Tosca Data Integrity, you need a valid Tosca Data Integrity license or a Tosca BI license from previous versions. For further information on licenses, contact your Tricentis sales person.

You might have to adjust the following options and settings when you upgrade:

  • If you have made any changes to Tosca BI options previously, you have to redo them for Tosca Data Integrity.

To do so, edit them in the Tosca Commander Options dialog as described in chapter "Options - Tosca Data Integrity".

  • The new default location of the Tosca Data Integrity caching database is %LOCALAPPDATA%\ToscaDataIntegrityExecutor\Caching.sqlite.

You can change this location in the Tosca Commander Settings dialog as described in chapter "Settings - Tosca Data Integrity".

Any previous changes to this setting might still be visible in the Tosca Commander Settings dialog under Tosca BI after the upgrade. However, this setting is not effective anymore.

Tosca Connect

To enable the communication between Tosca Commander and Tosca Connect, Tosca Commander and the Tosca REST API Service must use the same version.

If you upgrade Tosca Commander, you also have to upgrade the Tosca Server, which contains the Tosca REST API Service.

To ensure full functionality, use Tosca Connect 17.3.3 or higher.

For information on how to upgrade Tosca Connect, see this Tricentis Knowledge Base article.

Tosca Continuous Integration

To upgrade Tosca Continuous Integration, follow the steps below:

  1. If you have changed any default values in your configuration files, create a backup of those files. During the upgrade, Tricentis Tosca overwrites the existing files in your standard installation folders.

For detailed information on configuration files, see the respective sections in the Tricentis Tosca Manual:

  2. Update the new configuration files with information from your backups.

Do not replace the version 13.2 configuration files with your backup files.

Tosca Orchestrated Service Virtualization

To upgrade Tosca OSV, follow the steps below:

  1. Ensure that you have upgraded Tosca Commander. Tosca Orchestrated Service Virtualization (OSV) and Tosca Commander must use the same version.

  2. Reinstall Tosca Orchestrated Service Virtualization as described in chapter "Install Tosca OSV".

  3. Manage your licenses in the OSV Monitor via Environment->Account as described in chapter "License administration".

  4. In the Tosca OSV Monitor, clear the database for each OSV environment in the Edit Environment window by using the option Create Database.
