Configure a MLLP connection

You can configure a Minimal Lower Layer Protocol (MLLP) connection in the API Connection Manager.

This allows you to send Health Level-7 (HL7) messages which providers in the healthcare sector commonly use to transfer data.

Configure your connection

To configure a Minimal Lower Layer Protocol (MLLP) connection, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the API Connection Manager.

  2. Add a new connection.

  3. Go to the Edit section.

  1. From the Type drop-down menu, select MLLP.

  2. As Endpoint, enter host name or host IP address and port separated by a colon. For example: 10.100.12.34:11000.

You can now use your MLLP connection for testing. For detailed information on how to run HL7 messages in API Scan, see chapter "Send HL7 messages".
