Perform migration

Once you have added a project to the Tosca Administration Console, you can migrate it. You can migrate a single project, or migrate all your projects at once.

Migrate a single project

You can perform a schema migration and a TestCase (XEngine) migration. Migrating a project will first trigger a schema migration and then the TestCase migration. During schema migration, your projects are migrated to the Tosca version you have installed on the machine on which you perform the migration.

To migrate a single project, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Migrate button in the Actions column of the project that you want to migrate. If no schema migration is required, the caption of the button is Migrate TestCases, as only a TestCase migration will be performed.

Migrate project

  1. In the subsequent dialog, enter the Workspace Username and Workspace Password for the workspace. During the migration a new workspace is added to the repository you migrate.

  2. Select Revoke checked out objects? if you want to auto-revoke objects during migration. Note that revoking an object discards all changes of other users.

  3. Select Create a backup before the migration? if you want to create a backup before the migration. The backup file is located at %TRICENTIS_ALLUSERS_APPDATA%\Automation\MigrationBackup.

For information on how to restore a project, Back up and restore repositories.

  4. Click Start migration.

Migrate all projects

You can migrate several projects at once. All projects that you added to the Projects Overview section are migrated in sequence. If required, a schema migration is performed first, before the TestCase migration is performed.

To migrate all projects, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Migrate all button in the Actions column of the project that you want to migrate. If no schema migration is required, the caption of the button is Migrate TestCases, as only a TestCase migration will be performed.
