Working with items

The Test Data Management web application enables you to add, edit, delete and search for items in your test data repositories.

Add items

You can use the Test Data Management to add non-consumed items (that is, items that have not been used yet) of your test data repositories.

To add a new item, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Test Data Management.

  2. Select the type where you want to add an item.

  3. Click the Add Item button in the top right corner. A new clean line in Edit mode is displayed at the top of the repository.

  4. Enter the content of the new item, and click Save. The new item is saved to the database.

Edit items

You can use the Test Data Management to edit non-consumed items (that is, items that have not been used yet) of your test data repositories. Consumed items are not editable.

To edit an item, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Test Data Management.

  2. Click Edit in the item row that you want to modify.

    You can edit the text of each cell in the respective text box. Press TAB to switch between the text boxes.

  3. Click Confirm to commit the changes to the database and close the edit mode.

Delete items

You can use the Test Data Management to delete items from your test data repositories.

To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Test Data Management.

  2. Click on the item that you want to delete.

  3. Click on the Delete icon in the respective row.

Search for items

You can use the Test Data Management to search your test data repositories.

To do so, enter your search string into the Search field in the upper right corner.

Once you stop typing, the search starts automatically.
