Select controls in the test object

You can select any controls that can be automated, such as buttons and links. Container and generic controls are available if there is no other control under the cursor. With a right-click, you can always select containers or generic controls.

  1. After selectingthe application you want to scan, Tosca XScan will open in Basic View and the Select on Screen mode in Tosca XScan will be automatically enabled. In the Advanced View click on Select on screen, to start selecting controls in your application.

  2. Click the controls in the test object window to select. In the Advanced View of Tosca XScan you can also select or deselect controls in the XScan window tree.

  • All selected controls are highlighted in the test object window. The control names are shown in a tooltip.

  • Right-click a control in the test object window to show a list of all items that are located at your current cursor position. You can select additional items from the context menu of this control.

  • To scan controls that are out of the visible area of your test application, scroll to the respective control and select it.

Select controls in the application

  1. Click on Finish Screen to save your scan results as a Module.

  2. Click on Scan Screen to scan the next application window, or click on Close to close the Tosca XScan.

Select new application to scan

To select a new application to scan, click on Select new Application in the Advanced View of Tosca XScan.

The XScan - Select application window opens, and you can select a new application to scan.

If you right-click an application window, you can switch the engine used for scanning your application.
