Remove qTest links

You can integrate Tricentis Tosca and qTest (see chapter "Tosca qTest integration").

To do so, you need to link Tricentis Tosca objects to qTest. Tricentis Tosca is where you automate your tests. Linking them allows you to create the necessary objects in qTest (see chapter "Link with qTest").

If you no longer need the link, you can remove it. This is possible for the following objects:

  • TestCases

  • TestCase folders

  • TestEvents

To remove an existing link, follow the steps below:

  1. In Tricentis Tosca, select the object that you want to unlink.

  2. Right-click the selected object and select Unlink from qTest from the context menu.

This opens the Unlink from qTest dialog, where you can perform the following actions:

    • Log in with different qTest access credentials, if needed.

Tricentis Tosca remembers your login credentials, so if you want to sign in as a different user, enter the respective credentials and click Save and Refresh.

    • Specify whether you want to delete the linked object in qTest.

If you delete the linked object in qTest, you lose all its execution results in qTest.

Remove the link from a TestEvent

  1. Click Unlink.

  2. To transfer the link removal information to qTest, click Checkin All

By default, Tosca has a time window of 70 seconds to open the connection to qTest and unlink the objects. If the unlinking is not successful within that time, Tosca aborts and gives an error message.

You can define a different time frame under Project->Options->QTestIntegrationAddin->Maximum time allowed for linking attempts (in seconds).

You can only unlink objects from one qTest instance per checkin or save.

Let's say you have two TestCase folders and two qTest instances:

  • You want to unlink TestCase folder A from qTest instance A.

  • You want to unlink TestCase folder B from qTest instance B.

In this case, you need to unlink TestCase folder A and check in your objects.

After that, repeat the process for TestCase folder B.
