Key Features Version 14.1 STS

The Tricentis team is excited to unveil Tricentis Tosca 14.1 STS.

API Scan

As of Tricentis Tosca 14.1, you can use Avro schema-based serialization for Kafka messages. You can also use SASL authentication support for Kafka.

As of Tricentis Tosca 14.1, you can user a finer support for MTOM that allows defining custom Content-Type and Content-Transfer-Encoding.

DokuSnapper

With Tricentis Tosca 14.1, DokuSnapper creates Microsoft Word documents with different formats based on the TestSteps in your TestCases.

Excel Engine 3.0

Our newest version of Tricentis Tosca offers enhanced Workbook steering:

We also improved spreadsheet steering. You can now set cell formats and verify any property of a cell.

Additionally, you can delete data from any cell, row, or column within a defined range.

As of this version, you can steer password protected Excel files with Excel Engine 3.0.

Moreover, you can now define the maximum duration of macro runs in Excel files.

Excel UI Engine 3.0

With Tricentis Tosca 14.1, we introduce the Excel UI Engine 3.0 which allows you to scan and steer the Microsoft® Excel user interface. This includes the main application window, dialog windows, any worksheets that are currently loaded by the application, and WinForms controls embedded in worksheets.

HOST Engine 3.0

As of Tricentis Tosca 14.1, the HOST Engine 3.0 supports the use of the Jolly Giant emulator.

PDF Engine 3.0

With our latest version of Tricentis Tosca, you can exclude pages from repetitive areas in PDF Modules.

SAP Engine 3.0

As of Tricentis Tosca 14.1, we support SAP Belize theme.

SAP Solution Manager Integration

As of Tricentis Tosca 14.1, you can synchronize only selected Requirements from Solution Documentation.

SAP Web Extension 3.0

As of Tricentis Tosca 14.1, we improved the following standard Modules:

Additionally, we have added a new standard Module SAP WaitForBusyIndicator that allows you to pause your test execution while a default or custom busy indicator is visible on the screen.

With this version of Tricentis Tosca, we support the recent version of SAP SuccessFactors (2h 2020).

Furthermore, we now support Fiori 1.84.

Tosca Commander

As of Tricentis Tosca 14.1, Tosca Commander helps you create test configuration parameters (TCP). It now offers suggestions for Tosca-specific TCPs when you start typing. You don't have to know the name of the TCP or check the manual anymore.

Tosca Distributed Execution

As of Tricentis Tosca 14.1, some Tosca Distribution Agent configurations automatically carry over into the newest version. You don't need to configure them again after the upgrade from Tricentis Tosca 14.0.

Tosca Orchestrated Service Virtualization

As of Tricentis Tosca 14.1, you can use OSV REST API to control Tosca OSV.

Furthermore, Tosca OSV users and groups are now managed in the Tricentis User Administration.

Tosca XScan

With our latest version of Tricentis Tosca, you can save Modules directly from Tosca XScan to hard disk if Tosca Commander shuts down during scanning. You can later import your locally saved Modules into Tosca Commander.

Tricentis Automation Recording Assistant

As of Tricentis Tosca 14.1, we improved the steering of the new version of SAP Successfactor 2020 H2 for Tricentis ARA.

Tricentis Vision AI

Tricentis Vision AI 14.1 gives you improved compatibility, stability, and speed:

SignalR protocol for better compatibility with company proxies and firewalls.
Hi Fidelity OCR for increased stability and high speed execution.
Wildcard support. You can now use wildcards to match and verify your controls.

Additionally, Vision AI introduces detection caching. You can enable cache on the Nexus server for improved performance and reliability of regression runs. We will soon provide the details on how to sign up for this new capability.

XBrowser Engine 3.0

As of Tricentis Tosca 14.1, soft hyphens for all HTML elements are hidden by default in controls' properties. You can display soft hyphens by changing the value of a new setting Hide Soft Hyphens to False.

Furthermore, you can add regular expressions in the Module Execute JavaScript.

Upgrade to Tricentis Tosca 14.1 STS

Known issues

API Engine 3.0: Decimal numbers are displayed as integers in the Technical View tab

In API Scan when you insert certain values (for example 1.20 and 8.9), these decimal numbers are displayed as integers (for example 120 and 89) in the Technical View tab, which may be misleading. This does not affect the actual message sent.

API Engine 3.0: Value of dynamic lists is not expressed correctly

In API Engine, a display issue occurs as values in dynamic lists may be misleading in the Technical View tab. This does not affect the actual message sent.

API Engine 3.0: Microsoft Defender Antivirus may display an error message

When you use Antimalware Client Version (Microsoft Defender version) 4.18.2101.9, the Engine version (Scanning Engine) 1.1.17800.5, the Antivirus version (Virus definitions) 1.331.1638.0, and the Antispyware version (Spyware definitions) 1.331.1638.0, the following error message may occur: "Threats found. Start the recommended actions. Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml". Workaround: Update your Windows Defender to the latest version.

API Scan: OAuth Gmail limitation as browser window is outdated

When you use Gmail service with API Scan, the OAuth authentication is not working properly which causes problems as Gmail cannot be used with API Scan with OAuth authentication type.

Mobile Engine 3.0: Performance issues with locally connected Android device

When you scan some mobile applications on a locally connected Android device, XScan might take longer than expected to load all controls and identify a control as unique.

Mobile Engine 3.0: Issue with recognizing an iOS device in mobile clouds

In mobile clouds, an iOS device is recognized as a simulator, which causes problems with test automation of iOS applications.

Tosca Orchestrated Service Virtualization: Authentication-token for Tosca OSV Monitor needs to be refreshed manually.

If an authentication-token for Tosca OSV Monitor expires, the token will not be refreshed automatically. The token needs to be refreshed manually by restarting Tosca OSV Monitor.

WPF Engine 3.0: Recording a TabControl with WPF Engine 3.0 doesn't work properly

When you record TabControls, the WPF Engine 3.0 recognizes them as container controls instead of TabControls when selecting the ActionMode Input. With other ActionModes, the WPF Engine 3.0 recognizes TabControls correctly.
