Execute commands on the project root element

You can select the following commands from the context menu of the project root element under the SAP Solution Manager entry:

  • Edit Test Script

  • Set Password

  • Override RFC Credentials for Remote ControlMode

The commands below are located directly in the context menu of the project root element:

  • Start Remote Control

  • Resume Remote Control

Edit SAP Solution Manager Test Scripts

You can navigate directly to an SAP Solution Manager Test Script from the project root element via the Edit Test Script option.

  1. Right-click the project root element and select SAP Solution Manager->Edit Test Script.

  2. If necessary, enter the password for the configured user in the subsequent dialog and confirm your entry by clicking OK.

Entering the password is only required the first time you connect. The password is saved until you exit from Tricentis Tosca.

  3. Enter the name of the Test Script or the BlobID of the TestCase to be edited into the subsequent dialog and confirm your entry by clicking OK.

  4. In the subsequent dialog, enter the version number of the Test Script and confirm your entry with a click on OK. The system jumps to the specified TestCase.

Override RFC Credentials for Remote ControlMode

Tricentis Tosca uses an RFC interface to communicate with SAP Solution Manager. This interface allows data to be exchanged between the two systems.

You can set a different password than the one automatically transmitted by SAP via the option Override RFC Credentials for Remote ControlMode. It allows you to create an encrypted password for the user connecting to SAP Solution Manager which is used instead of the SAP password.

  1. Right-click the project root element and select Override RFC Credentials for Remote ControlMode.

  2. In the subsequent dialog, enter the user name whose RFC credentials you would like to change.

  3. Enter the password for this user in the subsequent dialog. Then enter the password again.

  4. To confirm your password, click OK.

Set SAP passwords

If your SAP password has changed, you can transfer the new password to Tosca Commander with the Set Password option (see chapter "Set new SAP passwords in Tricentis Tosca").

Start Remote Control

The Start Remote Control option starts the listening mode. In this mode, you can work in SAP Solution Manager and Tosca Commander waits for commands from SAP. If no Tosca Commander instance is open in listening mode, SAP Solution Manager will open one if needed.

Tosca Commander is locked when this mode is activated.

To start the listening mode, right-click the project root element and select the option Start Remote Control.

Resume Remote Control

The Resume Remote Control option is only available when starting from SAP Solution Manager (see chapter "Edit SAP Solution Manager Test Configurations in Tricentis Tosca").

The listening mode is automatically deactivated whenever the focus jumps from SAP Solution Manager to Tosca Commander. If you want to work in Tosca Commander, reactivate the listening mode by right-clicking the project root element and selecting the option Resume Remote Control from the context menu.
