Importing external objects

Administrators are able to import objects via an XML interface. The import process does not update existing data, but rather adds data to a separate folder.

This interface enables the transfer of objects which have been generated externally into Tosca Commander™.

External objects are defined in XML files. The import into a Tosca Commander™ project is performed via the project window (see chapter "Home menu").

Procedure

  1. Open the project window and select the project root element.

  2. Select Import External Objects from the context menu.

  3. Select the file to be imported.

  4. Start the import process by clicking on Open.

Generating XSD schema

The Tosca XML Interface (XTC) enables to import external objects from other tools or data sources into Tosca Commander™.

Select the option Tools->XTC Schema->Generation from the main menu to generate an XSD schema of the Tosca object structure. In the subsequent dialog, the file name and the storage location have to be specified.
