BASE I Custom engines

Custom engines are extensions of existing specific engines. They enable the definition of additional control types or specific derivations of existing control types.

From a technical point of view custom engines are separate VB projects, which are compiled and provided as DLL (if only additional steerings are created) or OCX (if wizard extensions are made).

Custom engines can be as comprehensive and large as independent technology-specific engines or can contain only a few objects, which include the required additional or modified steerings.

It is recommended to attend a technical training to be able to successfully implement a technical extension. For detailed information on technical training, please contact your sales representative.

Registration of additional classes

To ensure that the additional classes are instantiated when the test is executed, they have to be included in the ObjectMappings.dat (see chapter "Consideration of specific derivations – ObjectMappings.dat").
