Scan a different screen, application, or device

During the Mobile scan, you select controls that you want to steer (see chapter "Select controls to steer"). Once you have selected all controls, you can proceed with the following options:

  • Scan a different screen. For example, you can scan a screen of a mobile application and then scroll down to scan a different screen.

  • Change the mobile application. For example, you can scan controls in one web application and then change the URL to scan a different web application.

  • Change the device, emulator, or simulator. For example, you can scan controls in an Android device and then in an iOS device.

Scan a different screen

Use the Next Screen function to perform the following actions:

  • Scan multiple screens in a mobile application.

  • Scan scrollable content in Android applications.

  • Scan invisible content, for example expandable menus.

To scan another screen, follow the steps below:

  1. In the scan window, click the Finish Screen button.

  1. On the device or in Live View, select the next screen that you want to scan.

  2. In the scan window, click Scan Screen.

    If the screen that you want to scan contains both web and native content, the Mobile Scan asks you which content you want to scan.

    • To scan native content, select Yes.

    • To scan web content, select No.

Change the application or device

To change the application, device, emulator, or simulator, follow the steps below:

  1. In the scan window, click Select new Application.

  1. In the subsequent Mobile Scan window, choose the device and application as described in chapter "Start the Mobile Scan and connect".

    If you want to go back to the scan window without selecting a new device or application, click Back to the XScan.
