Report Designer

The third-party software Report Designer enables you to create and output a report for all object types you have previously defined (see chapter "Create a report definition").

Design Report

If you want to design your own report or customize an imported report, you can do this via the Report Designer. It is only possible to design a report if you have selected the Default Designer Definition and linked an object to your Dataset Defintion. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Right-click on the relevant Report Definition and select Design Report... from the context menu. The Report Designer opens.

  1. To customize your report design in the Report Designer, refer to the third-party List & Label® manual.

Upgrade Report to use latest ListAndLabel version

If you have created reports with older List & Label versions, you can upgrade them to the latest version. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. In the Project menu of your workspace, select Options.

  2. Click on Reporting, and enable the checkbox for Enable ListAndLabel upgrade task.

  3. Navigate to the report definition you want to upgrade. Right-click Report Definition and select Upgrade Report to use latest ListAndLabel version from the context menu.

  4. To complete the upgrade process, right-click the report definition again and select Design Report....

    The upgraded report opens.

  5. Save the upgraded report by clicking the button.

The upgrade cannot be reverted.

Standard objects in Report Designer

Report Designer provides different types of objects that you can use to customize your report.

The following object types are available by default:

  • Contingency tables

  • Charts (circular, bar or line charts)

  • Text/variable content

  • Line

  • Square

  • Circle/ellipse

  • Drawing

  • Report container

  • Formatted text

Transfer Tosca Commander objects to Report Designer

In addition to the standard objects that the Report Designer provides, some Tosca Commander objects are also automatically available as soon as the corresponding Columns attributes are transferred. The following Tosca Commander objects are available in the Report Designer:

In order to correctly display these objects in the Report Designer, select the corresponding attributes within Tosca Commander ( see "Tosca Commander object types").

Make sure to select only the Nameattribute and any other attributes necessary for your report. Selecting unnecessary attributes increases the amount of data that needs to be loaded, and can result in long wait times.

To specify object attributes, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the Dataset Definition for which you want to select attributes.

  2. In the Details tab of the respective Dataset Definition, select Name and any other desired attributes from the dropdown menu in the Columns column. If this column is not visible, add it via the Column Chooser.

The attributes available in the dropdown menu of the Columns column depend on the Object type.

Tosca Commander object types

The following Tosca Commander objects are available in the ribbon menu of the Report Designer and can be displayed in a report.

Execution Log Chart

The ExecutionLog chart displays the execution results as in the Tosca Commander Loginfo column (see chapter "Work with execution results").

In order to correctly display these results, select the following attributes for the object type ExecutionLog:

  • NumberOfTestCasesPassed

  • NumberOfTestCasesFailed

  • NumberOfTestCasesNotExecuted

  • NumberOfTestCasesWithUnknownStat

Execution Result Icon

You can transfer the Passed and Failed icons from an ExecutionList to Report Designer.

In order to do this, select the Resultattribute for the Object type ExecutionTestCaseLog.

The Passed and Failed icons are displayed in the report as shown below:

Requirement Execution Status Chart

For RequirementSets and Requirements, you can display the cells from the Execution State (%) column in your report. To correctly display this chart, select the following attributes for the object types RequirementSets and Requirements:

  • StatusPassed

  • StatusFailed

  • StatusMissingLink

  • StatusNotExecuted

Requirement Coverage Executed Chart

For RequirementSets and Requirements, you can display the cells from the Coverage Executed (%) column in your report.

To correctly display this chart, select the CoverageExecuted attribute for the object types RequirementSets and Requirements.
