Tricentis Tosca Patch Notes Version 14.2 LTS Patch 1-7
This topic provides information on the installation, new features and resolved issues of the Tricentis Tosca patch.
Tricentis Tosca patches are cumulative. The most recent patch for this Tricentis Tosca version contains the newly added features and fixes as well as those from previous patches. You only need to install the latest patch for this Tricentis Tosca version.
If you use Tosca Server, you must also install Patch 2 for Tosca Server to ensure full functionality. |
Installation
As of Tricentis Tosca 14.2 Patch 1, Appium and Tosca Mobile Assistant are no longer part of the standard installation. To install these components, you must download them separately from the Tricentis Support Portal. For more information, see this Tricentis Knowledge Base article. |
The installation file can be downloaded from the Support Portal. Unzip all files and run the Tricentis Tosca 14.2 Patch7.exe file.
If required, run the Tricentis Tosca 14.2 Patch7.exe file with administrator rights. |
You can also perform an unattended installation of the patch.
To do so, enter Tricentis Tosca 14.2 Patch7.exe /s /clone_wait /V"<MSI commands>" at the command prompt.
For information on installation parameters, see chapter "Install Tricentis Tosca in unattended mode". Note that the only applicable MSI commands for patches are /L*v and /qn.
When you patch Tricentis Tosca, the system installs new versions of configuration files, which might overwrite hidden settings that you applied to the previous version.
For information on how to avoid losing certain settings when upgrading, see this Tricentis Knowledge Base article.
New Features
For this patch, we have added the following features:
Mail Engine 3.0: Oauth support for Microsoft Exchange Server (since Patch 5)
You can now use OAuth as an authentication protocol to connect with Microsoft Exchange Server endpoints. The new protocol is the successor of the legacy Basic authentication protocol, which is being deprecated by Microsoft. If you still use the legacy protocol, make sure to read this article.
XBrowser Engine 3.0: improved Terminal Server support (since Patch 5)
As of Tricentis Tosca 14.2 LTS Patch 5, the Terminal Server support for Google Chrome was improved to make it more resilient. Note that if you manually installed the extensions from the %TBOX_HOME%\Resources directory, you need to manually reinstall them to benefit from this fix.
Tosca Continuous Integration: HTTPS support for non-Windows operating systems (since Patch 4)
As of Tricentis Tosca 14.2 LTS Patch 4, we included documentation on how to use the Tosca CI Client with an HTTPS binding for non-Windows operating systems.
Tosca Distributed Execution: Agent synchronization timeout (since Patch 4)
As of Tricentis Tosca 14.2 LTS Patch 4, you can define a synchronization timeout between Tosca Distributed Execution and its Agents.
Elastic Execution Grid (since Patch 3)
Tricentis is excited to announce that the technical preview of Elastic Execution Grid now supports Tricentis Tosca 14.2.
Elastic Execution Grid is a cloud-based environment where you can store, run, and track tests over time. It gives you reliable results within minutes, no matter how many machines you have, or how complex your tests are.
If you integrate Tricentis Tosca with Elastic Execution Grid, you can create your tests in Tricentis Tosca and run them in Elastic Execution Grid.

To provide this possibility, we have updated the SAP Solution Manager Wizard.
Additionally, you can now provide your RFC credentials directly in the SAP Solution Manager Wizard. This option is no longer available in the context menu of the project root element.
