Configure test execution behavior

Once you have set up your ExecutionLists, you can configure the execution behavior of Tosca Commander:

Set up simultaneous testing

If you are working in a multi-user workspace, you need to ensure that several testers can execute the same tests simultaneously and independently.

You can facilitate this by using TestMandates as described in chapter "Work with TestMandates".

Define how to handle errors during execution

You need to define how the system should handle errors and where to apply the specified error procedures. For information on how to do so, see chapter "Configure Tosca Commander for error handling".

Set up automated documentation of your tests

If you want to document the execution of your tests for reporting purposes, you have the following options:

  • take screenshots of all TestSteps that failed because of verification or dialog failures

  • take screenshots of TestStepValues that use the ActionMode Input

  • use DokuSnapper to generate a Microsoft® Word document that contains screenshots and data on all executed TestSteps

For more information, see chapter "Document the execution of your tests".

Configure Classic tests

Tosca Executor executes all tests you created with Classic Engines. It also allows you to execute Classic tests without having to open Tosca Commander. This lets you split the execution of your Classic tests between multiple machines, if needed.

For information on how to work with Tosca Executor, see chapter "Run Classic tests with Tosca Executor".
