Create and manage Requirements

Every business project has elements that carry more risk than others. Let's say you are an insurance company and want to introduce a new online insurance quoting tool. Your data indicates that 60% of users will get insurance quotes for automobiles. The rest will get quotes for motorcycles, trucks and campers.

In other words, the automobile quoting process carries the highest risk. If it does not work, this impacts your business the most. Thus, it should also carry the highest weight. Likewise, the weights of the motorcycle, truck and camper quoting processes should reflect the business impact if they fail.

So from a testing perspective, you want to make sure that

  • you design a test structure that mirrors your business cases and risks.

  • your test state displays your risk coverage at any time.

  • you can recognize high-weight TestCases and prioritize testing efforts, if needed.

Tricentis Tosca allows you to do just that. Once you have assessed your business cases, you can perform the following actions in the Requirements section in Tosca Commander:

The Requirements section requires the Requirements Management AddIn, which is part of the standard Tricentis Tosca installation. By default, the option RequirementsManagementUIAddIn is enabled. You can disable it under Project->Options. If you disable it, you can view objects that have been created in the Requirements section, but you cannot make any changes.

Tricentis Tosca Requirements Management requires a valid license. For more information on licensing, please contact your Tricentis sales contact.
