TestData - Export items

Tricentis Test Data Service allows you to export all items of a type from your database as a file.

To do so, use the TestData - Export items Module . This Module is part of the Standard subset. You can find it under Standard modules->Test Data Management->Test Data Service.

If security is enabled, you may have only limited access, depending on the user groups you belong to. To set your access rights, contact your Administrator.

Example

The following example shows how to export all items of a type from your database into a file.

To do so, follow the steps below: 

1. Complete the steps as described in see chapter "The prerequisite steps for TestData Modules".

2. Drag and drop the TestData - Export items Module onto the TestCase Sample TestCase Using TDS (see chapter "Create TestSteps from Modules").

3. Tosca automatically creates a new TestStep called TestData - Export items with the XTestStepValues Existing TDS type, Export format, Filename, Sorting, Encoding, Line Break, and Separator.

4. As an example, enter car as the Value for Existing TDS type, select CSV as the Value for Export format, select Sorting as ascending and enter the path to the file as the Value for Filename.

When you execute your TestCase, you export all items of a type from your database to the export file.
