TestData - Import items

Tricentis Test Data Service allows you to import items to a type from a file.

To do so, use the TestData - Import items Module . This Module is part of the Standard subset. You can find it under Standard modules->Test Data Management->Test Data Service.

If security is enabled, you may have only limited access, depending on the user groups you belong to. To set your access rights, contact your Administrator.

Example

The following example shows how to import items to a type from a file.

To do so, you perform the following steps: 

1. Complete the steps as described in see chapter "The prerequisite steps for TestData Modules".

2. To create the TestSteps, drag and drop the TestData - Import items Module onto the TestCase Sample TestCase Using TDS. Tosca automatically creates a new TestStep called TestData - Import items with the XTestStepValues Existing or new TDS type, Import format, Filename, Encoding, and Separator.

3. Enter car as the Value for Existing or new TDS type.

4. Select CSV as the Value for Import format.

5. Enter the path to the file as the Value for Filename.

Execute your TestCase to import items to a type from your selected file.
