Set up user data on network shares

To work with Tosca, users need rights to certain directories. If you set up user data on network shares or restrictive environments like CITRIX, you need to make sure that users have all necessary permissions.

This topic is for administrators. It explains which permissions you need to set.

User data directories

Users need rights for the following directories:

Environment Variables

Content

%TRICENTIS_PROJECTS%

User workspaces

%TRICENTIS_ALLUSERS_APPDATA%

Global configurations

%APPDATA%\TRICENTIS\TOSCA TestSuite

User-specific configurations

Necessary permissions

Every user needs the NTFS Full Control permission.

Make sure to set this permission explicitly, because it includes the necessary permissions Modify, Read & execute, List folder contents, Read, and Write. It also includes the right to Change permissions.

Note: you also need to set the Share permissions to Full Control. If the Share permissions are set to Read or Change, these more restrictive settings override the NTFS Full Control permission.
