Create TestCases with the Recorder

With the Recorder, you can create TestCases quickly and easily. You can record a TestCase just by using the application as you normally do. During the recording, you interact with the application, and the Recorder translates your actions into TestCases and corresponding Modules.

The Recorder supports the following engines:

Work with the Recorder

To work with the Recorder, follow the steps below:

  1. Start the Recorder.

    You can control the recording process and switch between the different recording modes with the Recorder menu.

  2. Create TestSteps by performing one or more of the following actions:

  3. Pause and resume the recording process, if necessary.

  4. Stop the recording and save the results.

  5. Work with the results of the recording.

Record with Automation Recording Assistant

The installation of Tosca Commander includes Tricentis Automation Recording Assistant (Tricentis ARA). It is an improved version of the Recorder which also ships as a separate product.

With Tricentis ARA, you can record your tests in a simpler and more intuitive user interface. It also offers several new functions, such as playing back your recording, editing TestSteps, or adding comments to TestSteps.

To start Tricentis ARA in Windows, go to Start->Tricentis->Automation Recording Assistant.
