Create a new Bot

A Bot is a sequence of actions that you want to perform. Each action is an automated task that you would otherwise do manually (see "What's a Bot?").

To create a new Bot, right-click RPA Folder and select Create Bot from the mini toolbar, or press CTRL+N, CTRL+B.

Create a new Bot in RPA Folder

Once you have created a new Bot, you have access to the Flowchart tab. This is where you design your Bot, i.e. define the actions that you want your Bot to perform.

Create a new Bot folder

By default, RPA Studio opens on the RPA Folder level. RPA Folder can contain Bots or other folders.

To create a folder, right-click RPA Folder and select Create Folder from the mini toolbar, or press CTRL+N, CTRL+F.

This new folder can contain Bots or further folders.

You can open any element in the project tree in a separate window. To do so, right-click the element and select Open in new window from the mini toolbar. To pin the window, drag and drop it onto the docking element.

Pin the new window for Folder 1 via the docking element

You can also create folders that are on the same hierarchical level as RPA Folder. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Home menu and click on Project.

  2. This opens the project window. Use the docking element to pin it to your workspace.

  1. In the project tree, right-click the project root element and use the context menu entry Create Folder to create a new folder. This folder can contain Bots or other folders.

You cannot create a Bot directly on the project root element.

What's next?

Design your Bot, i.e. tell the Bot exactly what to do by adding Steps in the Flowchart tab.
