Set up RPA Studio

To set up RPA Studio, you need to perform the following actions:

  • Install RPA Studio.

  • Authorize users to publish Bots to RPA Orchestrator.

Install RPA Studio

Note the following:

  • You can only install RPA Studio and Tricentis Tosca on the same machine if you use Tricentis Tosca version 13.0 or higher.

  • When installing on the same machine, you need to install Tricentis Tosca before RPA Studio if you use Tricentis Tosca version 13.1.

To install RPA Studio, follow the steps below:

  1. Ensure that you have local administrator rights.

  2. Download RPA Studio from https://www.tricentis.com/products/robotic-process-automation/rpa-studio/.

  3. Copy the file Tricentis RPA Studio<version_number>.exe to a directory of your choice.

  4. Double-click the file to start the installer.

  5. Follow the instructions of the setup dialog.

For information on files and directories that RPA Studio creates during installation, see "Files and directories".

Authorize users to publish Bots

By publishing Bots, you move them over to RPA Orchestrator, where you run the Bots in production.

To publish Bots and work with RPA Orchestrator, users need to be authorized. If users aren't authorized and try to publish a Bot, they will receive Error 403.

To authorize users, follow the steps below:

  1. In RPA Orchestrator, grant publish rights to the respective user group (see the RPA Orchestrator documentation).

  2. In RPA Studio, go to Project > Settings > RPA Studio.

  3. For the setting Authenticate URL, enter the URL to the RPA Orchestrator Authentication Service.

For information on the URL, see the Tricentis RPA Orchestrator documentation: "Access user management".

What's next

Once you have set up RPA Studio, you can create the work environment for business users.
